Introduction to the Summary Page

The Summary page is your starting point when you log in to your portal. It offers enhanced data insights for both the current survey and predefined periods, enabling you to analyze survey data over longer timeframes (month, quarter, semi-annual, annual).

This guide will walk you through the various segments of the Summary page and how to make the most of this powerful feature.

Summary page segments

Overall score

Overview of the Overall score section:

The Overall Score section provides a snapshot of your company-wide survey statistics or for the selected team (if the portal user is a restricted manager or if the portal user chooses to view only one specific team e.g. Finance and accounting), including:

  • Response rate - shows the percentage calculated on the number of total answered surveys compared to the total sent surveys:

    • by hovering over the circle, the portal user will see the exact number of answered and sent surveys:

    • by hovering over the title “Response rate”, the portal user will get an explanation for the calculation behind the metric:

  • Teams Pulse - shows the average score calculated on the total number of answers in a survey

    • by hovering over the title “Teams pulse”, the portal user will get an explanation for the calculation behind the metric:

  • Wellbeing Score - shows the average score of all answers to the first question

    • by hovering over the title “Wellbeing Score”, the portal user will get an explanation for the calculation behind the metric:

By default, you'll see statistics for the latest survey, but you can navigate through the date picker to select previous surveys or choose a predefined period:

Participation rate

When you choose a predefined period (month, quarter, semi-annual, annual), an additional metric called "Participation rate" appears.

Depending on the selected period, by hovering over the title “Participation rate”, the portal user will get an explanation for the calculation behind the metric.

Monthly participation rate shows the percentage of employees who answered at least one survey compared to the total number of employees that received the survey during one month:

When the selected period is quarter, semi-annual, or annual, then the Participation rate is calculated by dividing the sum of the employees who answered a survey per month for the selected period, and the sum of the employees who received a survey per month for the selected period:

E.g. if the predefined period you selected is the first quarter of the year (Q1):

No. of employees who answered survey in January: 20

No. of employees who received survey in January: 120

No. of employees who answered survey in February: 35

No. of employees who received survey in February: 125

No. of employees who answered survey in March: 46

No. of employees who received survey in March: 123

The Participation rate for Q1 is as follows:

(20+35+46/120+125+123)*100=101/368*100=27%

Additionally, when you choose a predefined period the Response rate explanation also changes to the total number of answered surveys compared to the total number of sent surveys in the month/quarter/semester/year, depending on the selected period.

Response rate

Overview of the Response rate section:

The Response rate section shows the company-wide survey answering statistics or for the selected team (if the portal user is a restricted manager or if the portal user chooses to view only one specific team e.g. Finance and accounting), along with teams that have the Highest and Lowest Response rates.

Response rate shows the percentage calculated on the number of total answered surveys compared to the total sent surveys.

  • You'll see four circles by default, displaying the company's response rate, your teams, highest response rate teams, and lowest response rate teams.

  • Hover over these circles to see exact numbers and percentages.

If the survey is selected, the data it is presented in 4 circles:

  1. Top left circle - Company’s response rate

    1. green colour represents answered, pink colour represents not answered

    2. by hovering, a portal user can see exactly the numbers, while the middle of the circle shows the percentage of Response rate

    3. there is a comparison with the previous survey displayed in the form of an arrow and the percentage of the increase/decrease

  2. Top right circle - Placeholder circle (if you can see all teams) or My Teams (if you have restrictions seeing teams)

    1. this circle is grey and the data is not visible if you are viewing company-wide results, but once you select a certain team, the results will appear, as shown in the photo above

    2. green colour represents answered, pink colour represents not answered

    3. by hovering, a portal user can see exactly the numbers, while the middle of the circle shows the percentage of Response rate

    4. in the case that the portal user has restrictions seeing teams, this is a prefilled circle with My Teams information, meaning they have statistics summarized for all teams they can see

      1. if they select a specific team, then the My Teams circle replaces the Company’s circle (top left) and in this position, the user can see statistics for the selected team

    5. there is a comparison with the previous survey displayed in the form of an arrow and the percentage of the increase/decrease

  3. Bottom left circle - Highest Response rate teams

    1. green colour represents answered, pink colour represents not answered, while the middle of the circle shows the percentage of Response rate

    2. next to the circle is a list of team(s) that have the highest Response rate with the tooltip for the team’s hierarchy next to each name and the exact number of answered and sent surveys

  4. Bottom right circle - Lowest Response rate teams

    1. green colour represents answered, pink colour represents not answered, while the middle of the circle shows the percentage of Response rate

    2. next to the circle is the list of team(s) that have the highest Response rate with the tooltip for the team’s hierarchy next to each name and the exact number of answered surveys and sent surveys

If you select a predefined period, the Participation rate appears and it shows the statistics of employee participation in a month. Also, it will show teams with the Highest and Lowest Participation rates. If an employee has answered at least one survey in a month, it is considered they have participated and will be taken into account in the Participation rate.

By selecting a predefined period instead of the survey, the statistics are adjusted and will show the data for the selected period.

Participation rate

When you select a predefined period the Participation rate segment appears below the Response rate segment.

It shows the same four circles with information about participation rates but using different calculations.

Participation rate shows the number of employees that answered at least one survey, compared to the total number of employees that received at least one survey, in the company or the team(s).

The calculation is adjusted based on the selected period (month, quarter, semi-annual, annual).

Team pulse

Overview of the Team pulse section:

Offers average scores, response rates, and category breakdowns for your company, teams, and specific teams.

Team Pulse offers insights into the average score of your company and teams, along with the highest and lowest results. Here's how to explore this section:

  • The Company Results subsegment provides an average score, response rate, and category breakdown.

  • If you're a restricted manager, you'll also see My Teams with data for teams you can access.

  • Selecting a specific team shows its statistics.

The Team Pulse section shows the average score of a company, teams (if a portal user is a restricted manager), and a specific team if one was selected for the selected survey or predefined period. Also, it will show the teams with the Highest and Lowest results.

It has info about the average score, response rate percentage, and categories that were questioned in the selected survey or a period.

Team Pulse by default will have 3 or 4 subsegments, depending on the role restrictions (restricted manager or not):

  • Company results

    • Shows the response rate, average score, category breakdown based on the survey that is selected, and comparison with the previous survey displayed in the form of an arrow that serves as a signal for the increase or decrease

  • My teams - if a manager has restrictions seeing teams, admins and non-restricted managers don’t have this subsegment

    • Shows the average score of all teams that a restricted manager can see, response rate, and category breakdown based on the survey that is selected

  • Highest results teams

    • Shows the list of teams that have the highest results score and by clicking on the dropdown on the right side of the list, the category breakdown is visible

  • Lowest results teams

    • Shows the list of teams that have the lowest results score and by clicking on the dropdown on the right side of the list, the category breakdown is visible

If a specific team is selected, the admin or non-restricted manager can see a new subsegment that shows average score and the statistics of that team.

If a restricted manager selects a specific team, then the company score is replaced with the My Teams score, in the second subsegment that specific team is shown.

When a user selects a predefined period, the calculations are adjusted and take into account all data from the selected period. Also, the category breakdown has additional categories shown due to the change in selected period.

Additionally, If the category has been questioned in the previous survey or previous period, the comparison with the previous survey is displayed in the form of an arrow that serves as a signal for the increase or decrease.

Questions and Answers analytics

Overview of the Q&A section:

The Questions and Answers analytics section provides detailed statistics and insights for the selected survey, including employee responses to specific questions.

The first section shows the three questions that were in the selected survey and the answers employees left, with the category every question belongs to, and the icons if a question measures a dimension (Autonomy, Motivation, Emotional exhaustion) or Employee engagement index.

Read more about Employee engagement index and three new dimensions of engagement here.

There is a rainbow scale for every question, representing the volume of answers that employees selected:

  1. Red - the most negative answer

  2. Orange

  3. Yellow

  4. Dark green

  5. Light green - the most positive answer

  6. Grey - couldn’t answer the question option

By hovering over any colour, the Portal user sees the exact meaning of that answer (e.g. Very bad), and the exact number of answers compared to the total answers:

The Analytics per Question subsection offers analytics per question taking into account the positivity or negativity of answers - it shows the total number of employees who selected positive or negative answers. By selecting any of these circles, the list of employees that answered with those options will appear. Also, there is a link taking the user to the Teams page if they want to have a closer and more detailed view into answers.

There are teams and survey selectors, as this section is not connected to the sections before it. It is entirely separate and can show the data only for a survey, and not for predefined periods. You can also use the Latest week button to quickly show results latest week results:

Admins will see statistics for the entire company, while restricted managers can access summarized statistics for their teams as well.

When a specific team is selected, if a portal user doesn’t have restrictions, then next to the company statistics, there will also be team’s statistics. If a portal user has restrictions and selects a specific team, the My Teams is moved left instead of the company, and the specific team’s statistics are shown.

Comments and Praises subsection shows the number of comments and the number of praises collected for the selected survey (comments) or the week (praises). Praises have both lists of employees who were praised and employees who gave praise.

There are links to dedicated Comments or Praises pages so the user can explore more and read through them.

Highly negative

Overview of the Highly negative section:

The Highly negative section shows employees that are highly negative in real-time.

Highly negative employees are those who have had 3 surveys in a row, or 6 surveys in total in the past 12 surveys where they selected at least once the negative answer (options number 1 & 2).

You can access the list of Highly negative employees by navigating to Employees page in the sidebar menu --> Details then applying the Highly negative option in the Results filter.

On the left side of the section, there is a list of teams that have highly negative employees.

The portal user can see the percentage and the exact number of employees, both highly negative and total. The higher the percentage is, the more alarming the situation in the team is, so the list is ordered by the percentage of highly negative employees compared with the total number of employees in the team.

Additionally, there is a tooltip next to each team. By hovering over the tooltip, the user can see the hierarchy of up to 5 teams. If the hierarchy is more complex and has more than 5 teams, there are 3 dots (…) shortening the list. The user can click on the tooltip and it opens a window with the full hierarchy line for the selected team.

On the right side of the section, there is a list of all employees who are highly negative, with the most recent ones at the top, and a red borderline and a tooltip explaining that the employee matched the highly negative criteria in the last survey. By clicking on any of the teams from the right side, the list of employees is filtered and will display only highly negative employees from the selected team.

The portal user can also click on the link and be redirected to the Employees Details page with the Highly negative filter applied.
